Troy University’s Small Business Development Center and the Sorrell College of Business is hosting free attendance to a webinar aimed at businesses wishing to get active in hurricane relief and recovery activities.
The webinar begins at noon on Thursday, May 16 at the SBDC offices in the “IDEA Bank” building (formerly Regions Bank), located at 63 S. Court Square in downtown Troy.
“Any business interested in doing business with, donating to or volunteering for hurricane recovery efforts are invited to attend – and they can bring their lunch with them,” said Betsy Baker, a senior consultant with the Alabama SBDC at Troy University.
Baker said the webinar – scheduled to last until 1:30 p.m. – will cover getting registered to do business with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; spotting and avoiding scams; FEMA solicitations for bids; donations and volunteerism.
