The third season of "InChoir" will have seven episodes that will air weekly.

“InChoir,” a podcast that promotes conversations about choral music, the arts and life, will launch its third season on September 4.

A collaboration between TROY’s College of Arts & Humanities and TROY Public Radio, the podcast is co-hosted by Dr. Diane Orlofsky, TROY Professor Emerita of Music and Music Education and Graduate Coordinator/Advisor for Music Education, and Dr. Scott Sexton, Assistant Professor of Music Education.

Dr. Orlofsky and Dr. Sexton shared that “InChoir” remains dedicated to sharing the compelling stories behind songs, a tradition that carries forward into season three.

“Whether composers get their inspiration from lived experiences like water shortages and wildfires, larger than life world events such as space exploration, appreciation for global music heritages including Celtic and Malaysian traditions, or expressions of grace, beauty, wonder, friendship and love, we hope the choral music we feature in Season 3 will resonate even more with our audience once the stories are told,” The co-hosts said.

Orlofsky and Sexton go on to explain that they both found this season to be especially inspiring and compelling.

“The conversations you hear express the reason we started this podcast,” they said. “As conductors and choral music educators, we have always been curious as to how composers explore sound, choose and set universal texts, and most importantly, celebrate our shared human experiences through their choral compositions.”

The third season of “In Choir” is supported by a grant award from the Alabama Humanities Alliance that will be used to support production assistance and assist with outreach.

Seven episodes, each approximately 30 minutes long, will air weekly. The themes and featured composers for each episode are as follows:
