TROY alumnus John Robert (JR) Eason (2017) has been named Director of Development in the Sorrell College of Business.
He had previously worked with the College of Health and Human Services since joining the University’s Office of Development in 2022. Prior to joining Development, he was an insurance risk advisor with Harmon Dennis Bradshaw.
“Since joining the Development team in June of 2022, JR has done a fantastic job working with donors and the College of Health and Human Services. He has worked to secure key major gifts for Jones Hall, scholarships and other opportunities that have elevated the college and that will benefit our students for years to come,” said Associate Vice Chancellor for Development Greg Knedler. “With this elevated position in the Sorrell College of Business, we are expecting more great things and JR will continue to work with our Troy community to provide philanthropic support for this great University.”
Eason holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and plans to obtain his MBA from TROY in the future. He is married to Haley Eason, ’17, who works as a nurse in Montgomery.
“While health care will always be a passion of mine, I am excited and honored to take on a larger role with my alma mater. I look forward to working with Dean Edwards and the Sorrell team to help continue and advance their mission of being one of the best business colleges in the nation,” Eason said. “I want to thank the College of Health and Human Services faculty, staff, students, alumni, and supporters for working with me over the last year and a half. It has truly been an amazing experience.”
