Troy University’s Rosa Parks Museum presents a series of free art therapy workshops for area veterans beginning Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Troy University’s Rosa Parks Museum will present a series of free art therapy workshops for area veterans beginning on Tuesday.

The Museum is working with local artist Mark Montoya, who specializes in the healing properties provided through art, to present the workshops, which will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. each Tuesday for the next seven weeks.

Montoya, a Montgomery native, is a decorative painter and landscape designer, who also is an active volunteer in the community.

The project, Veterans’ Voices, will help participants create their own works of art that will then be included in a special exhibit at the Museum, located at Troy University Montgomery. Up to 15 participants can be accommodated.

To register for the free workshops or for additional information, contact Madeline Burkhardt at 334-241-8701 or by email at mburkhardt@troy.edu.
