November 9, 2019

Savannah Maddox, a senior K-6 elementary education major from Enterprise, has been crowned Troy University’s 2019 Homecoming queen.

TROY Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., SGA President Morgan Long, 2018 Homecoming queen Kaitlin Beyler and SGA Director of Representation Nicole Jayjohn crowned Maddox during halftime of the Trojans’ football game against Georgia Southern.

“It is such a great honor,” Maddox said. “Troy University has always had a special place in my heart. It has truly helped me become my best self. I’ve always wanted to give back to the university, and I’m so glad to have this opportunity to give back to the university and represent it with pride.”

Maddox, who was sponsored by Kappa Delta Pi National Education Honor Society, was escorted by her father, Kevin Maddox, during the ceremony.

Members of the Homecoming Court, including Maddox, took part in the annual Homecoming Parade and were recognized during pre-game festivities.
