Troy University will celebrate 10 years of dance at the University with a show titled “Together We” this week at the Trojan Center Theater.

The shows take place Feb. 21-23 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 24 at 2:30 p.m.

“Ten years ago this month, the Department of Theatre and Dance gave its first dance concert to a sold-out Crosby Theater,” said Deborah Hicks, TROY Coordinator of Dance. “At this concert, we’ll welcome back to campus alumni from both theatre and dance who were instrumental in our beginning — some in our audience, some working in choreography and some performing in pieces. We are thrilled to have them with us.”

Tickets are $10 for general admission or $5 with a student ID. They can be purchased at the Trojan Center Box Office or online at www.troytheatreanddance.org.

“We never once imagined that our program would be anything other than it is now, and, in spite of all the ups and downs of any new endeavor or maybe because of them, we built it anyway, but we could not possibly have done what we have without all of whom we celebrate in this performance,” Hicks said. “It truly takes a village, and ‘Together We’ would like to thank each of you who make up ours.”

The performance takes place in conjunction with TROY’s annual Day of Dance, in which dance students participate in masterclasses with professional working dance alumni.
