TROY design students win 25 Awards, Student Designer of the Year in annual ADDY competition

Troy University design students won top honors at this year’s Montgomery and Dothan American Advertising Federation (ADDY) student competitions, including ten Silver, seven Golds, four Judges Choice, one Best of Show, Student Designer of the Year Award in Montgomery and two professional awards.

The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting more than 25,000 entries every year in local AAF Ad Club competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.

Icie Wallace, a senior design student, was awarded Student Designer of the Year in the Montgomery competition for her comprehensive body of award-winning work that includes a music video, an animated title sequence, and a book design.

Other notable wins include Howard Purvee’s Best in Show win in Dothan for his Troy Volleyball campaign.

Design Professor Chris Stagl and design alumnus Nathan Hobbs were also awarded two trophies in the Professional Division for their creative work on the YellowHammer Film Festival 4 campaign, bringing home a Gold and a Judges Choice award from Dothan.
