Troy University’s Dothan Campus is hosting this year’s Festival of Trees from now until Dec. 14 on the second floor of Everett Hall. Local non-profits and TROY’s colleges, student clubs and corporate partners will have trees up for display for the community to enjoy.
“This is a great event to learn about local businesses and organizations while also viewing the creativity of the community members,” said Taylor Jones, a TROY Dothan student ambassador. “Here at Troy University’s Dothan Campus, we want to exemplify those assets by coming together to enjoy this time not only as a school, but as a community. Bring your Christmas cheer and join us in celebrating the most wonderful time of the year!”
On Dec. 5 at 2 p.m., the public is invited to come vote for their favorite tree during the Celebration of Trees event featuring a welcome by Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Kerry Palmer followed by fellowship and refreshments.
The winner will be announced on Dec. 6 and will receive a 3D-printed “Power T” trophy courtesy of TROY’s 3D printing department.
Those interested in adding an ornament to the Leadership Tree or adding to the refreshments are encouraged to contact Susan Echols or Diane Sowell at the Dothan Campus.
