Troy University is expanding access to higher education for educators nationwide through its new Educators Scholarship, which provides a 10% tuition scholarship and waives application fees for active educators in the United States. Available to K-12 teachers and administrators, early childhood educators, support staff and paraprofessionals, the scholarship is designed to make pursuing a degree or advancing an education career more accessible and affordable.
The initiative builds on TROY’s longstanding connection to the education profession. Founded as a teachers’ college, Troy University has a long history of preparing educators and supporting the communities they serve. Through the Educators Scholarship, TROY is expanding that commitment by making educational opportunities available to educators regardless of where they are located.
“TROY was founded as a teachers’ college, so honoring our historical roots through this opportunity felt especially meaningful and appropriate,” said Staci Hutto, Executive Director for Online and Military Affairs. “Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with school districts throughout the Southeast, many of which have taken advantage of our partnership programs. We felt it was time to expand that opportunity and make it available to educators everywhere. At TROY, we have a deep commitment to, and heartfelt appreciation for the incredible educators who dedicate their lives to educating and inspiring the next generation. The Educators Scholarship is a small token of our gratitude and a way for us to say thank you for all that they do!”
For educators considering returning to school, the scholarship is designed to help make continuing their education more accessible while allowing them to balance their professional responsibilities. With both online and on-campus programs available, educators can pursue undergraduate or graduate degrees while continuing their careers.
“We hope it shows them that advancing their career is truly within reach,” said Tamara Broadnax, Director of State Authorizations & Corporation/Military Partnerships. “Cost and time are the two biggest obstacles for teachers. By combining a 10% scholarship with flexible online and on-campus formats, educators can earn a degree on their own time.”
In addition to the tuition scholarship and application fee waiver, eligible educators can receive a free unofficial transcript evaluation and access to TROY Career Services’ recruitment tool and job posting network, Handshake. The scholarship applies to future terms and requires proof of eligibility.
The initiative also reflects TROY’s broader commitment to meeting working professionals where they are and creating pathways for lifelong learning.
