Troy University’s John M. Long School of Music will host a free event for high school students to experience what it’s like to be a music education major for a day.

On Friday, March 28, attendees will have the opportunity to meet current faculty and students in the School of Music, participate in ensembles, take a tour of TROY’s campus and learn more about the music education program.

Dr. Scott Sexton, Assistant Professor of Music Education, says that the event is an invaluable experience for students considering coming to TROY and preparing for a career in music education.

“The event gives a unique opportunity to learn more about the role of an educator, what they’re journey here could look like and engage with our passionate faculty,” he said. “We’re looking forward to welcoming these students and future music educators to our campus who will then inspire the next generation of musicians.”

If you would like to learn more about the event or have any questions, please contact Dr. Scott Sexton at rsexton@troy.edu. You can also register for the event here.
