Troy University fraternity prepares for walk to Panama City Beach.

Troy University’s Alpha Tau Omega fraternity is preparing for its annual “Walk Hard” fundraiser where the brothers will walk the full 128 miles to Panama City Beach.

In its twelfth year, the fundraiser is designed to raise money and awareness for Jeep Sullivan’s Outdoors.

Sullivan takes wounded veterans on outdoor excursions and the money raised by Alpha Tau Omega helps Sullivan with his efforts.

The group will leave Troy from the John Lewis Quad on the Friday morning at the start of TROY’s Spring Break and end up in Panama City Beach on the following Wednesday.

They raise funds throughout the walk through the Walk Hard website at walkhard.info.

“What made me want to do it again is seeing the impact on the veterans we made last year in the walk,” says second time walker Kyle Elliott. “Having guys that have literally been overseas and served our country and have seen things that I could never see thank us for walking to Panama City. That walk we do to Panama City is very temporary. It’s just week-long thing for us. They have to go through this every day of their life and knowing that we make their lives a little easier by raising some money for them and teaching them, having jeep minister the gospel to them it just means the world to me.”
