TROY University student organization hold Women’s Summit on campus.

March is Women’s History Month and in celebration, a pair of female-oriented organizations on campus held an event designed to promote empowerment among women.

The second annual Women’s Summit was held in partnership with Sparkle Mentoring Club and the Miss Elite Society last Thursday night.

The Women’s Summit was started as a means of giving young women on campus a chance to come together and discuss issues that contribute to the overall empowerment of women in the community.

“We needed a conference for women to be able to realize who we are and help us get through this troubling time because sometimes we lose ourselves and in the midst of a pandemic and things of that sort,” says organizer Blessa Peyton. “I felt that this summit was just an empowerment to let us know that, we got this, we are strong independent women and we can do anything that we set our minds to.”
