Trojan Men’s Basketball defeats South Alabama.

The Trojan Men’s Basketball team defeated the South Alabama Jaguars Saturday in Trojan Arena.

The 77-68 win over the Jaguars came after TROY lost to their in-state rival two days earlier in Mobile

“We came into this game with a chip on our shoulders especially being that we saw them couple days ago in a hostile environment,” says Guard Kieffer Punter. “So we already knew they had to come back to Trojan Arena and we were ready.”

South Alabama took their largest lead of the game with 10:25 left in the half. From there the Trojans responded with a 12-1 run with freshman Duke Miles scoring eight of those points. Miles also led the team in scoring with 22 points.

“He did it all,” says Head Coach Scott Cross. “He hit shots. He hit threes. He was able to drive the basket, drop it off to his teammates, get a lot of assists. He played fantastic defense. I mean he just does it all. He’s an all-around guy that doesn’t have really any flaws in his basketball game.”
