Troy University updates COVID mask policy.

Masks are now optional inside campus buildings and facilities at Troy University.

TROY updated the schools mask policy effective Monday, October 18.

While masks are optional there is one exception, faculty members may still require masks inside instructional spaces and faculty offices.

“They will have to communicate with their students in their classes to let them know what their decision is, if they’re going to wear a mask or if they’re going to make it mask optional,” says Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Lance Tatum. “No one will have the ability to completely mandate the removal of the mask. So if students want to wear the mask in a classroom they’ll be able to do that. If faculty want the students in their class to wear a mask, they’ll be able to do that but they also have the flexibility to make it optional.”
