Taking care of your heart one step at a time.
Thursday night the Pike County Heart Association held their annual Heart Walk.
The Troy Recreational Center hosted the event which aims to make more people heart conscious and aware of their heart health as well as fundraise to support the American Heart Association in the fight against heart disease.
83-year-old Heart Walker Luther Messick uses his experience to fuel his desire to walk and keep walking.
“I’m a heart survivor patient,” says Messick. “I had an operation in ’13 and had a metal heart valve put in and since then I’ve been real active in all the heart fun walks and stuff and I really enjoyed it and life has been good for eight years now.”
