Riddle-Pace Field to debut new videoboard

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — The right field of Riddle-Pace Field will look a little different this year thanks to a brand new video board.

For the past two weeks crews have been tearing down the old board and preparing to install the new feature.

“We’re just finishing up the finishing touches right now on the branding on the inside piece of it, but the last piece of this is is the scoreboard,” said Director of Athletics Brent Jones.

The new board will not only be able to keep score, but also show some new technology.

“Full LED, a new sound system as well, which is going to be huge,” Jones explained. “You’re going to be able to have a pitch speed, you’re going to be able to have full video, live video, instant replays, as well as certain highlight videos that we have. Showing our fans the stats, the graphics, the data that they typically expect.”

The scoreboard will be one of the main focal points of the new video board and will give the Trojans bragging rights.

“We’re going to be able to see a brand new video board, the largest video board in the Sun Belt Conference,” Jones told TrojanVision.

The wait is almost over. According to Jones, the new video board will be ready by by the time the Trojans throw out the first pitch of the season.

The Trojans take on SIUE on Friday, Feb. 15 at 4 p.m. inside Riddle-Pace Field.
