Students look back on Spring semester 2024

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — As spring the spring semester comes to a close, Troy University students are already making plans for their summer break.

Thanks to classes, homework and tests, students have had a full semester.

“I’ve enjoyed my challenging classes and getting closer to being in the business school and really working on my major classes,” said sophomore Marilee Taylor.

“I feel like I like connecting with the teachers,” said sophomore Gabrille Jent. “I have really enjoyed these classes and they’ve been really fun for me.”

“I’ve really just been enjoying projects overall from the different professors,” said senior Connor Evans. “We’ve been presenting those projects, so it’s been good.”

Summer is an exciting time for students as well as faculty and staff. The summer months give Trojans time for well-deserved relaxation or for some a first step into their post-collegiate career through summer internships. Meanwhile, one TROY professor has her sight set on an overseas adventure.

“For the first time because of the whole COVID-19 thing, I have a plane ticket booked and I’m going to spend 10 days in Beijing with my older brother and sister-in-law,” said TROY professor Hanna Cooper.

As exciting as summer can be, there are certain things everyone should keep in mind.

“Be safe,” said Trojan Outreach peer educator Jazmin Laney. “I think the same rules apply for spring break, if you’re drinking, be really safe. Have someone there that is sober to be with you, and just think about what you’re doing before you do it.”

“Be safe,” Cooper reiterated. “Use this time to recharge before the Fall semester. Find some nice fresh air find places that you’ve never seen, eat good food, do all the things that you need to do to. Just come back 110 percent in the fall.”

Term 5 begins May 28. Fall semester begins Aug. 14, 2024.
