Trojan Patriots visit Butter and Egg Adventures

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — The Trojan Patriot Leadership Academy took a trip to Butter and Egg Adventures to continue honing their leadership skills.

Trojan Patriot Academy is TROY’s latest leadership camp that takes high school students and instills skills that coincide with being a successful leader.

Duane Gunn, the coordinator of the Trojan Patriot Academy, told TrojanVision the basis of what the organization stands for.

“It is designed to combine some of the teachings of our founding fathers and the basis of what the country is based upon along with the leadership material that we teach at Troy University.”

Part of the experience of Butter and Egg Adventures is getting to participate in team-building activities.

“This group of students throughout the week they’ve been separated into four colonies,” chaperone Lydia Dabbs said. “They are getting to know each other and doing these team-building activities allows them to know each other ‘s leadership skills with their good at and maybe what someone else is stronger at.”

Although the leadership topic is serious, the activities are meant to be fun for everyone.

“They are on the zip line, they’re doing laser tag, and the team-building exercises,” Head Chaperon Bree Wright explained. “They’re learning what it looks like to work together as a team to have one goal come to fruition. We as leaders get to look at them and watch their characteristics.”

The trip to Butter and Egg Adventures concluded the Trojans Patriot Academy’s time at TROY. They then headed to Montevallo to continue their leadership experience.
