Shackelford wins inaugural Shack Quad Olympics

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Tuesday night, Cowart, Pace and Shackelford Halls held their first-ever Shack Quad Olympics event.

The goal of the event was to get people out of their dorms and into some friendly competition as well as to see which dorm would come out on top in a series of games set up by the resident assistants (RA).

“Fun, simple things just to get the residents out and moving and interacting with each other,” said Cowart Hall RA Abby Lane.

Troy University police offers also showed up, not not to shut down the party, but rather to join it. Officers also acted as security while taking part in the festivities.

“We’re just out here being a support, and letting them know that the police are nice people, and that they’re engaged in our community,” said Officer Peyton Thomas.

After some close competition and a tight finish, Shackelford was the dorm that prevailed in the end, making them the Shack Quad Champion.
