TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — The International Student Cultural Organization (ISCO) brought out the games for a night of fun, laughs and competition.
“We had snacks, we listened to music and we had some board games,” said ISCO President Nautica Morgan.
Students enjoyed Trivial Pursuit, Loteria, Incohearent, Chess and Hot Takes.
As one of the club’s first events of the semester, organizers said the game night helped ISCO stay true to its goal of bridging the gap between domestic and international students.
“When I went to bingo night, I met a wonderful group of Korean and Japanese students that I hang out with all the time now,” Morgan said. “Games really help lighten the mood.”
HAPPENING ON CAMPUS: Shackelford wins inaugural Shack Quad Olympics
Morgan says social events help students meet new people they may not meet otherwise. She hopes the club can continue to reach new students and foster international connections.
“Hopefully, we will get a bunch of people interested in the club and be able to spread our little fingers throughout campus a bit more,” Morgan said.
Before the games began, ISCO also held elections to fill its remaining executive positions. The organization introduced its new board on social media.
ISCO’s next event will be the annual Peace Walk in honor of International Day of Peace. That will be Thursday, Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. in front of Hawkins Hall. The walk will end in front of the International Arts Center‘s Peace Dove.
