TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — For their first event of the semester, the International Student Cultural Organization (ISCO) is giving students the chance to meet with new people from around the globe.
Sophomore Samuel Velez said, “I got to meet some international students from Japan and South Korea. It was so fun learning about different languages and different cultures.”
Jeopardy, Tank Trouble, and Trojanopoly were all present in Patterson hall, giving students a chance to bond over friendly competition. Caroline Beason shared her favorite moment from the night.
“My favorite part was probably when we played Jeopardy and the theme was movies,” Beason said. I love watching movies, but I learned there’s a lot that I don’t know.”

To ISCO president Thomas Brantbaker, casual events like game nights are more important than ever.
“With the way things are in the country right now, it’s important to note that people can still sit in this kind of a setting and be comfortable and enjoy one another’s presence,” Brandtbaker said. “relations between different groups of people aren’t as extreme as international and American politics would lead the average person to believe.”
ISCO plans to hold more events throughout the semester, including the club’s annual ISCO Festival. To learn when ISCO’s next event will be held, viewers can follow ISCO_TROY U on Instagram for more information.
