Troy draws against Georgia State in first conference match

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Wednesday afternoon Troy and Georgia State drew in a Sun Belt Conference match.

Not unlike the weather, the match was tough and unforgiving with both teams creating chances but being thwarted by the opposition’s defenses.

Trojan goalkeeper Une Georgsen recorded five saves.

“Especially after second half when she came in, she came for the cross and and made saves that she should make,” said head coach Stuart Gore.

The Trojans were missing senior captain Delaney Wells who has recorded two match-winning goals this season.

Sunday the Trojans head to Huntington, West Virginia, to take on the Marshall Thundering Herd.

“They’re a team based off a lot of foreigners,” Gore said. “It’s going to be very similar to the Monroe game with the way they move the ball so we’ve got to be switched on at all times, otherwise they’re gonna they’re going to slice through us.”
