TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Student Support Services (Trio) decided to raise awareness and support for those with the disease via sweet treats.
Trio held a bake sale where every treat that was sold helps support breast cancer patients and research.
“We decided to set up a table to support breast cancer awareness, and we decided what other way than sell some good old sweet treats to raise awareness for breast cancer,” freshman and Trio member Tyshaun Caldwell said.

With each sold cookie, brownie and candy more money was dedicated to breast cancer awareness.
Troy faithful showed up paying with either cash, Venmo, or Cash App to show their support.
“I think our busiest hour was during the rush hour which was around 12 o’clock and people have just been coming and supporting us and buying items to support the cause,” explained Caldwell.
The bake sale ended Thursday at 3 p.m., however, students can still donate to breast cancer research by visiting www.bcrf.org.
