TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Troy University students kicked off their shoes for line dancing sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA).
Monday evening, the SGA hosted Footwork and Fizz in the Trojan Center Ballrooms to bring students together.
“I feel like its a good opportunity to make new friends and just have a good time,” said Emma-Claire Olson, a SGA member.
Students also enjoyed refreshments and met SGA members in between running to the dance floor. They had Shirley Temples, Dirty Dr. Peppers and more.
“I’ve met a bunch of people just coming through the line,” said Olson.

“It’s just bringing everyone together,” said Destiny Presley, a Troy student. “Especially with line dancing because it’s a big part of society. I can see it impacting everybody else.”
Students ventured out to the dancefloor for classic line-dances like Footloose, and they sure got loose for the Wobble.
“I love how it brings everybody together,” said Madyson Smith.
Students emphasized the importance of getting involved on campus.
“I would say try to get people in different organizations on campus to come out,” said Smith. “That way people can meet them and hear what their organization is about. Especially freshman because its really hard for freshman to come out.”
The SGA continues to host events for students across campus. For more updates follow @troysga on Instagram.
