Alumnus and successful businessman Jeff Coleman will provide the keynote address at Troy University’s Fall Commencement on Dec. 15 in Trojan Arena.

Exercises will begin at 10 a.m. for the more than 700 graduates planning on participating in the ceremonies, including one who will receive the Ph.D. in Hospitality, Sport and Tourism Management and 13 who will receive the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.

While free to attend, the ceremonies require a ticket for admission.

Coleman earned his undergraduate degree in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama, and he earned an MBA from Troy University Dothan.  He was awarded the Alumni of the Year in 2003 for Troy University Dothan. 

He is chairman of the Coleman World Group and is the 5th-generation leader of the family-owned moving, storage, relocation, and transportation business that was established in 1914. Coleman World Group is headquartered in southeast Alabama and is ranked as one of the top 30 largest private companies in the State of Alabama. 

A native of Dothan, he graduated from Northview High School, and he was a member of the 1981 State of Alabama High School Football Championship Team and he achieved the highest rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. 

 In October 2020, he was inducted into the Hall of Honor for the International Association of Movers. In August 2019, he completed two terms as the Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army for Alabama (South). 

His service has included the Alabama Commission on Higher Education. A two-term appointee, Coleman served as Commission Chairman for two years. He is a 2011 Graduate of Leadership Alabama and a 2015 Graduate of the Air War College National Security Forum at Maxwell Air Force Base. 

He has been a member of Rotary International for more than 30 years where he was the President of the Dothan Tuesday Rotary Club, and he is a Paul Harris Fellow.

He served as Chairman of the Business Council of Alabama, Chairman of the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce and as Chairman of the International Association of Movers. 

Jeff and his wife, Tiffany, live in Franklin, TN and they have three married daughters and one granddaughter.
