The campus library offers MANGA and other graphic novels as the latest form of media for students to check out.
On the second level of Wallace Hall, students can head to the back of the library and discover shelves of colorful volumes of their favorite manga and comics. The collection caters to several different readers.
“There are a lot of different graphic novels that we have for different age ranges,” Cha Webster, the science librarian, said. “There are some for kids too, like Dog Man but then we also cater to LGBT so there are books for every walk of life.”
“If you are into stuff like Marvel or DC, we also have comics,” she said.
Webster explained that the library is only carrying series that have concluded. However, this principle varies when it comes to graphic novels.

The collection includes popular titles such as “FairyTale” and “Demon Slayer.” Students are already taking advantage of the opportunity to complete these works.
“I checked out ‘Demon Slayer’ because I have a fascination for the series itself and the creators who made it,” Jalen Johnson, a freshman computer science major, said. “It offers more visual impact to me honestly, especially with me doing some graphic design of my own.”
According to Webster, the collection will grow as more options become available.
“There should be something coming in for ‘Deathnote’,” Webster explained. “If not, there should be ‘Bleach’.”
“Eventually we will have ‘Attack on Titan’ and the whole collection for ‘Naruto’,” she said.
This is the first semester the library has introduced these works of literature. Students like Johnson are excited about having more options.
“In terms of why the library should have more genres of material, I think that there should be a book for everyone,” Johnson said. “Whether it is educational, fantasy or manga, the library should be a place where almost any book should be accepted to the public.”
