This weekend, the Parents of TROY Association is hosting its annual Parents and Family weekend. The weekend will feature two main events, capped off by the TROY football matchup against James Madison University.

MoJo Hand – a local band that plays classic rock, country and a variety of other music – will be playing Friday night on the main quad for the band party. The event, which runs from 8 p.m. to midnight, will feature hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.

Additionally, the Parents of TROY Association will have a tailgate set up next to Pace Hall at the corner of University Avenue and Veterans Memorial Drive. Saturday’s tailgate will last from 3 p.m. to kickoff at 6 p.m..

“The weekend gives the parents a sense of identity at the University,” said Meredith Welch, director of annual giving and special projects. “It also allows them the opportunity to meet other parents and make friendships.”

Registration for parents weekend includes a game ticket, and interested family members can sign up at troytrojans.com/familyweekend. Members of the Parents of TROY association only need to RSVP here.

Besides free access to Parents and Family weekend, members get benefits such as a 10% bookstore discount, access to a private Facebook page and more. Additional information about the Parents of TROY association can be found troy.edu/parentsoftroy.
