Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Troy University‘s Theater and Dance department is bringing “Newsies” a musical based on the Disney film classic to the stage of the Claudia Crosby theater.

The show will run March 3-6 and the cast and crew are excited about the opportunity to bringing the show to life.

“We have been working on newsies for almost three months now and it has been off and on three hour to four hour nightly rehearsals,” says Cast Member Jacob Brooks. “Newsies, I think, is a great example of a young generation finding it’s time to take a stand and stand up for its rights. Stand up for the way the world should work moving forward because they are facing a lot of oppression. Not only in their own personal lives and the way that they’re being treated but in their work lives and they’re being taken advantage of and they have decided no more.”
