TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Troy came close, but could not finish the upset of No. 20 in this week’s College Football 27 simulation as the Trojans fell, 14-9.

Missouri corner Chris Graves Jr., who would be named Player of the Game, would be the bane of Troy’s existence during the contest. Graves would be responsible for the first score of the game, when he intercepted quarterback Goose Crowder and returned it for a 65-yard pick six. Graves would make his name known again when he intercepted a Crowder Hail Mary pass on the last play of the game to give the Tigers the narrow win.

Despite the two interceptions, Crowder would be the most impressive quarterback of the game, throwing 12-for-19 for 152 yards. Wide receiver TJ Lott would be the biggest recipient of Crowder’s passes with four receptions for 82 yards.

LAST WEEK’S SIMULATION: Troy predicted to shut out Alabama State, 17-0

Troy running back Gavin Griffin would have another impressive performance, having ten rushes for 50 yards. However, fellow running back Jordan Lovett would have the lone touchdown of the game for the Trojans when he ran one in from five yards out. The two-point attempt after the score would fail.

Missouri outscored Troy 14-3 in the first three quarters off the back of Austin Simmons’ 10-for-18, 94-yard, one touchdown performance. The only blemish for Simmons would be an interception late in the first half when Troy safety Marcus Goree Jr. intercepted a pass to set up a Trojan field goal. Wide receiver Caleb Goodie would lead the Tiger receiving core with three receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown.
