TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Troy pulled out an astonishing double overtime victory against Utah State in this week’s College Football 27 simulation, 23-20.
Quarterback Goose Crowder would be the Player of the Game, as the Gardendale native threw for 216 yards and three touchdowns. Howard Kinchen, TJ Lott, and Colton Walls would be the recipients for Crowder’s scores.
Utah State would be the only ones to score in the first half through a 50-yard field goal. However, Crowder and Kinchen connected to give Troy the lead, 7-3.
The Aggies would strike back in the fourth quarter with a touchdown of their own when quarterback Grady Brosterhous found Javon Robinson for the score. The Trojans would march down the field and, with 16 seconds left, would kick a field goal to tie the game.
Troy would score first in overtime with Lott catching a Crowder pass. Utah State would answer, as after 24 yard pass on first down, running back Javen Jacobs would score to send the game to second overtime.
The Aggies could not find the endzone in second overtime, settling for a field goal. The Trojans would take advantage of that, as Crowder threw a touchdown pass to Walls, who came in as a tight end, to win the simulation.
