After dropping their first conference match of the season to open Sun Belt play the Trojan Volleyball team swept UT -Arlington to get their first league victory of 2021.

The Trojans defeated the Mavericks 3-0 Saturday afternoon in Trojan Arena.

Julia Brooks and Cheyenne Hayes led the team in kills with 12 a piece.

“It was a dirty gritty win,” says Brooks. “But I’m proud of the team for staying on it and finishing it.”

Head Coach Josh Lauer agreed with the grittiness of the win and says some hard work helped TROY pull out the tough win.

“I thought our serve receive passing all weekend long was really really good,” says Lauer. “Cheyenne and Lacey and Isabella and Caroline did a really really great job in serve receive passing and that really helped us be stable and and win some gritty points.”
